Timeless - A series of Colourful Acrylic Paintings 2011-2012
Lesley Birch's landscape paintings are noted for their loose and expressive mark-making, developing her themes of Time, Space and Nature. In this series, entitled Timeless, she expands her colour palette, inspred by the landscape, but still aiming for an abstracted image. Using acrylics in layers and over many months, she builds up textures and forms, responding to the process intuitively. Memories and imagination interplay with her love of the 'feel' of paint to express her emotions about place.
