Lesley's sketchbooks are an integral part of her practice, using them to log down thoughts, ideas and observations in collage and drawing format.
She will use charcoal, watercolour, pastel and acrylics to develop her ideas further back in the studio or out in the garden. Derwent moleskine sketchbooks are her favourite - "I won loads of them in an art competition," she says, " and I adore them. The paper is of such high quality. I like to take a sketchbook wherever I go."
